A commercial project isn’t like a home: many windows, a schedule to respect, materials that need to be easy to maintain, and often plans to follow. We take care of it from measuring through to installation.

By type of space

Offices

Clinics and health facilities

Patient privacy, easy maintenance and bed-separating curtains are the first questions. The curtains hang on ceiling or wall tracks, in flame-retardant fabrics, antimicrobial on request.

Schools

Blinds need to be sturdy, simple to operate and easy to maintain, and able to handle strong sun in classrooms.

Hotels

Room darkening and a coherent decor matter most. We can combine blackout shades and curtains, depending on the project.

How a commercial project works

1. Site visit. A project lead visits and takes the measurements.
2. Detailed quote. You receive a clear quote. The first visit is free within the National Capital Region.
3. Samples and tech sheets. We provide sample cards and tech sheets for approval, and work from your plans, fabric specifications and specs binders when needed.
4. Fabrication. Depending on volume and product, 4 to 8 weeks after quote and fabric approval.
5. Installation. It is scheduled around your project timeline.

Working with an architect or designer? We coordinate with them regularly. If your project is phased, for example one floor or one wing at a time, tell us at the quote stage so that fabrication and installation can be planned around it. And if your building has windows of many different sizes, we make each blind to its own measurements, so the finished result looks uniform.

Choosing the right blinds for a commercial space

A few criteria come up almost every time:

• Light. Do you want to filter, block or simply reduce glare? Depending on the fabric, solar, blackout and translucent shades meet different needs.
• Privacy. Consultation rooms, closed offices and meeting rooms don’t have the same requirements as open areas.
• Maintenance. In a busy space, materials that are easy to wipe or clean are generally preferred.
• Operation. For many windows or tall ones, Somfy motorization can be more practical than cords.
• Consistency. Matching blinds from window to window give a tidy look from the outside.
