How it works
The track is a discreet aluminum profile fixed to the wall or ceiling. Inside, a belt drives the carriers that hold the curtains. The Somfy Glydea motor sits at one end; it is quiet and starts softly so the fabric is never jolted.

- App and voice control optional, through a Somfy gateway that works with Google Home, Alexa and Apple HomeKit. You can set a schedule or group several windows.
- Centre opening (two panels meeting in the middle) or side opening (one panel stacking to one side).

Wired or radio
A wired motor plugs into an outlet or a connection prepared by an electrician, ideally during construction or renovation. The radio version, on battery, avoids wiring and suits cases where no outlet is within reach. An advisor recommends the simplest option for your room and the weight of your curtains.
The curtains that go with it
A motorized track is made for curtains with a sewn heading: French pleat, flat pleat or ripplefold, the latter giving the even ripples popular in contemporary interiors. Grommet and rod-pocket curtains are less suited to a track. We make your custom curtains in our workshop, from your fabric or ours, to suit the track and the room.
Measuring and installing
We measure on site: width of the opening, overhang wanted on each side, mounting height, stacking space for the open curtains, and the nearest outlet. To prepare, our guide to measuring curtains and rods explains these points with diagrams. Installation is done by our team, curtains included.
Lead time and warranty
Allow 3 to 6 weeks for the track and the curtains, depending on the fabric and complexity. We confirm the date when you order. The Somfy motor carries a 5-year warranty, and curtain tailoring is guaranteed for life.

What we get asked most
What is the difference between a motorized track and a rod?
A rod is a decorative pole you slide the curtains along by hand. A motorized track is a discreet profile fixed to the wall or ceiling, in which a carrier pulls the curtains with a motor. You hardly see it; the curtains are what you notice.
Can you motorize my existing curtains?
Often, yes. If your curtains are in good shape and their heading works with the track's gliders, we transfer them to the new track. An advisor checks the heading, the weight and the width of the opening on site.
Do I need a power outlet near the window?
For a wired motor, yes, or a connection prepared by an electrician. A radio version, on battery, exists for cases where wiring is complicated. We recommend the best option for the room and the size of the curtains.
How do I control the track?
A remote is included. As options you can add a wall switch, an app, or voice control through a Somfy gateway that works with Google Home, Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The curtains can also open and close on a schedule.
